Supervision & Maintenance

21Net conducts the railway homologation of every component of its Broadband to Trains system, providing extensive design, testing and documentation of all equipment installed on trains.

Real-Time monitoring of the 21Net Internet service

The management of the Internet service provided on the train’s fleet is supervised by the 21Net Networks Operations Center (NOC).

The NOC continuously monitors each component of the train equipment, including the satellite communications sub-system, Wi-Fi and UMTS modems, routers, servers and access points.

A comprehensive alerting system notifies our Supervision Team of any technical problems identified in the trains, combining Internet connectivity with a GSM remote control system when the satellite link is unavailable.

The NOC also collects usage statistics as well as detailed logs of the operation of all the main train components.

Installation & Maintenance of the 21Net system

21Net has gained considerable experience in working with train operators. The maintenance of the 21Net solutions is based on the following principles:

  • Maximize the remote interventions to minimize the physical interventions on trains
  • Include the physical interventions within the normal schedule of train maintenance
  • Collaborate with the train technicians, including training dedicated to using 21Net equipment

21Net also conducts the railway homologation of every component of its Broadband to Trains system, providing extensive design, testing and documentation of all equipment installed on the roof and inside trains.
