NTV’s .italo train is equipped with a unique system that offers travelers the highest standard of Internet connections as well as state-of-the-art on-board entertainment. The technological solution adopted for the broadband Internet on-board consists of a communications infrastructure based on a combination of three technologies:

• Bi-directional satellite communication
• Terrestrial UMTS communication
• Wi-Fi

The result of the interplay between these three systems assures an Internet navigation experience that will always be of high quality in terms of speed and continuity at speeds of ±300 km/h.

21Net also offers the .italo passengers a cutting edge on-board entertainment package. This includes an on-board portal that appears when passengers open their laptos and connect to the intranet. The portal lets passengers watch high-definition movies, listen to music, read news reports, etc. In addition, the entertainment package also transmits a television channel providing news and entertainment.

21Net has also equipped the VIP carriage where passengers have their own individual touch screen on which they can navigate the entertainment menu and the television channel. And finally to complete the package, the Italo train enjoys its own on-board cinema carriage equipped with high-definition screens and entertainment in four languages.
